Andrea Ruffilli Architects was founded in London by Andrea Ruffilli in 2020.
The practice shares a passion for constructing specialising in the design and delivery of well crafted contemporary buildings and spaces. The work is characterised by meticulous attention to the concept and details of every project, and a relentless focus on refining design ideas to arrive at a solution which is architecturally, socially, and intellectually coherent.
The practice’s ambition is to understand contemporary needs both practical and emotional providing a design response that should be capable of enriching our lives or “doing good“ in the world via a simple, sustainable and durable product.
Andrea studied architecture at the ETSAM, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and graduated in architecture with distinction from the Istituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice (IUAV) in 2012. Andrea is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and is qualified to practice in the UK, Europe and Switzerland.
In 2013 he moved to the UK to join Coffey Architects where he was the design team leader of the RIBA Award winning and RIBA shortlisted house of the year Modern Mews in London and a series of high-profile and award winning residential and cultural projects in the UK.
During his studies he has been working at Nieto y Sobejano Arquitectos and Carlana Mezzalira Pentimalli where he was involved for the architectural design of a number of high-profile residential and cultural projects in Spain, Germany, Italy and Switzerland.
Andrea was Assistant Professor at the Istituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice (IUAV).
